Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the iPhone and iPad app SugarPeek ("the app"), published by Levio Studio ("we", "us"), handles information. The app works without an account and keeps your data on your device.

1. What the app does

SugarPeek shows how much sugar a food product contains as a stack of sugar cubes. You can scan a barcode, search by name or enter a value yourself, compare products, and see roughly how long walking or running would take to burn off that sugar.

2. Information stored on your device

• History and settings. Products you looked up, your sugar cube size, and haptics and sound preferences. You can clear your history in the app, or delete the app to remove everything.
• Body profile. Your weight and, optionally, height, age and sex. They are used only to estimate walking and running times and are never sent to us or anyone else.

3. Permissions and why they are needed

• Camera. Used only to read product barcodes on your device. Images and video are not recorded, saved or sent anywhere. You can search by name or enter values by hand instead.

4. Network requests and Open Food Facts

To find a product, the app sends the barcode number or the text you search for to Open Food Facts, a free and open food database, and loads product images from it. As with any web request, Open Food Facts can see your IP address. We add no identifier of you to these requests and we receive none of this information. Open Food Facts handles requests under its own privacy policy. Product data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) and images under CC BY-SA.

5. Information we do not collect

• We do not ask you to create an account.
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or location.
• We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking services.
• We do not sell or share personal information.

6. Not medical advice

SugarPeek is an educational tool. Sugar values come from Open Food Facts, a database built by contributors, and can be incomplete or inaccurate. Walking and running times are rough estimates based on the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and standard activity values. They are not medical or dietary advice. Please talk to a doctor or dietitian about your health.

7. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can remove everything the app stores by deleting the app. If you have a question or request, contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
